Browning .22 Short Takedown Auto — 1972 Belgium (Grade I Scroll)

Description
This classic Browning takedown autoloader from 1972 combines fine European finish work with a practical, packable takedown design. Chambered in .22 Short and built with a 22" barrel, it features Browning’s bottom-eject takedown action, Grade I scroll engraving on the receiver, and a glossy beavertail forearm and pistol-grip walnut stock with hand checkering — details that make it attractive on the rack and pleasant to carry afield.
The metal retains about 97% of its original blue with only light muzzle and edge wear; the original wood shows mild, superficial crazing. The bore is bright with a couple of very small spots near the chamber, consistent with careful use and storage. This example comes with a foam-lined two-piece box, original manual, and a Weaver top-mount scope base (box has no end label). Serial 72E28702 and the Belgian manufacture date align it with Browning production from the early 1970s.
Ideal for collectors who value original finish and correct vintage accessories, or for shooters who want a well-preserved, easy-to-take-down rimfire for backyard plinking and small-game work. Notes: loads via the right side of the stock (magazine tube inserts through the grooved metal buttplate).
