Description
This is a classic Winchester Model 94 lever-action carbine chambered in .30 WCF, the original Winchester designation for the cartridge now commonly called .30-30 Winchester. The barrel is clearly marked “Model 94 – 30 W.C.F.” and “Made in New Haven, Conn., U.S. of America.” Please note that this is a Model 94, not a Model 90.
Serial number 1,343,254 places this carbine around 1942, near the late wartime-production range. Winchester cautions that historical serial-date records are approximate, but collector research places serial numbers near 1,340,000 in mid-1942. This makes it a genuine pre-64 example, a production category valued for its traditional forged and machined construction.
The rifle has a 20-inch round barrel, full-length tubular magazine, walnut stock and forearm, adjustable rear sight and hooded front sight. It remains in very good condition for its age, showing honest handling wear, scattered finish thinning and light marks in the wood and receiver. The visible wear appears consistent with normal field use rather than abuse.
